Applications

From coating labs to precision optics manufacturing — we build measurement systems that think the way optical engineers do.

Every optical component tells its own story — from a thin-film coating on a flat substrate to a multi-element lens assembly. At EssentOptics, we understand that measuring each of them requires not only precision, but also the right approach. That’s why our instruments are built around the optical tasks themselves — not just as devices, but as complete metrology solutions developed in collaboration with coating engineers, R&D teams, and production experts.

Whether you work with flat optics or with curved optics, we help you choose the right path for accurate, repeatable, and traceable results across the DUV to LWIR spectral range. Select your optics type below, and let’s find together the instrument that truly fits your application.

Flat optics — mirrors, filters, prisms or diffraction gratings — may appear simple, yet even small deviations in coating uniformity or angular response can impact system performance. Our PHOTON RT family is built to deliver high-accuracy absolute reflectance and transmittance measurements, across wide spectral bands, at variable incidence angles and in polarization modes.

Choose this application when your core challenge is spectral coating metrology of flats.

What you’ll find here:

  • Broadband spectral qualification (DUV to LWIR)
  • Absolute reflectance & transmittance, with polarization
  • Angle-scanning of coatings
  • Automation & batch measurement support

Coated lenses and assembled objectives challenge conventional measurement methods. Our LINZA family is purpose-built for direct measurement on real curved optics — from single convex/concave lenses to complex objectives — where geometry, coating uniformity or reflectance distribution response truly matter.

Choose this application when your challenge is to characterize optical coatings and transmission directly on finished, curved components.

What you’ll find here:

  • Direct reflectance and transmittance measurement on curved surfaces
  • Works with spherical, aspherical and cylindrical lenses
  • Profiling of the lens reflection distribution for real-lens geometry
  • Accurate verification of coated lenses and assembled objectives
