Customers in St. Petersburg and Stavropol (both in Russia) choose AKRA IR optical monitoring systems and ECLAT fast spectrophotometers for processs control.
EssentOptics has successfully completed two new projects in April 2011 for customers in Russia. A high-speed ECLAT 1017 spectrophotometer was commissioned at Exiton, Stavropol, and two AKRA IR optical monitoring systems were put into operation at OptoSense, St. Petersburg.
Together with a development of unique series of interference filters, one of the major objectives in the project for OptoSense was also to ensure the new technology is sustainable for high volume production. Two IR optical monitoring systems (models AKRA 1550 and AKRA 0450) were selected and installed on vacuum plants to meet these requirements. According to OptoSense specialists, "very good results were achieved by using direct control over the deposition of multilayer optical coatings within 1.0 - 5.0 mkm range in order to improve both the quality of the coatings and repeatability of deposition processes. Operation of the AKRA instruments showed that their application will help us to develop a reliable production technology of complex infrared interference coatings."
Measuring optical characteristics of antireflection coatings on laser elements represents a rapidly growing and routine necessity. Exiton company from Stavropol, Russia selected ECLAT 1017 spectroophotometer to conduct rapid test of their YAG elements in the 950-1700 nm range. According to Galina Boris, Director of Exiton, "instantaneous speed and high precision measurements of ECLAT spectrophotometer allow us to conduct now an impressive amount of research work in addition to daily routine tests of reflectance and transmitance of our active laser elements. As a resullt, now we can significantly improve the characteristics of antireflection coatings and eventually the performance parameters of active laser elements meeting the growing needs and requirements of our customers."
