EssentOptics commissioned AKRA IR Optical Monitoring Systems at JSC

EssentOptics announces new installations of its advanced AKRA IR Optical Monitoring Systems to control the deposition of multilayer optical coatings. A new AKRA 1550 system was commissioned recently at "Sapphire" (Moscow, Russia).

The installed control system has an expanded monitoring range 1200-5000 nm which offers precise control possibilities for deposition of complex optical coatings in the infrared range. With its build-in spectrophotometer mode of operation, the customer can measure the spectrum after each depositied layer which additionally contributes to obtaining high-quality coatings with a high degree of repeatability of deposition processes.

According to Rodion Stepanov, Deputy Head of Vacuum Designs and Advanced Technologies Department, "This latest control system from EssentOptics allowed us to improve production of complex interference coatings. Just within less than one month we have obtained the first approved samples of multilayer filters for mid-IR range."

It is important to underline the readiness of "Sapphire" management and specialists to apply modern technologies and acquire new skills. Cooperation with the "Sapphire" experts has been very professional and result-oriented. We sincerely wish success to our partners in implementing of their challenging plans.
